History of Sparta Lodge No. 296

Sparta Lodge No. 296, A.F.&A.M., traces its origins to the leadership of E. G. Friend, an experienced Mason who helped organize the lodge. It received its official charter in 1888 under the authority of the Grand Lodge of Missouri, founded in 1821. Since its founding, Sparta Lodge No. 296 has remained an active part of Missouri Masonry, maintaining a long tradition of fellowship, relief, and community service.
